Plugging the blog

Hi ladies! If you're new to this page, I'm assuming you're here because I pretty much wrote this as a way to get in touch with me for well, everyone today at Get Acquainted Day! Haha--I'm just trying to get more page views than Brenner. Just kidding!!! She and I have a little running joke about how often I blog because although we're both crazy busy, I'm a little addicted to posting pictures if you couldn't tell and so I post more frequently than anyone else. Consequentially, I rarely update my Facebook now but that's okay--I'll catch up to picture posting eventually. Besides, I think they get more appreciation here anyway.

So in honor of my and Brenner's running jib of blog updating, here she is taking a picture of the sign outside  of Doyle. If you saw us out there and wondered what we were doing, this is it. Talk about dedication, right?

I hope you ladies had as wonderful of a time as the entire campus did having you guys here. We can't wait to see you soon! Congrats to those coming in the fall and we'll hope to see you for our future events!

it's FRIDAY FRIDAY...giving up meat on FRIDAY

Sorry, I had to make that reference. It's the time for pictures I think and so as I attempt to update this with fun things here and there, I had to post this.

om nom nom nom
So for those of you follow admissions' posts and see you a plate of food from me, it was because the portions they gave out at lunch were HUGE. Besides, I also almost forgot the it's Lent and it's my practice to give up meat on Fridays so I ended up taking all the chicken of of the salad. Still pretty good, though.

So who's coming to Admissions' Get Acquainted Day on Monday? It's not too late to register, ladies! I can't wait to see you there!

"The sun itself sees not till heaven clears"

-Shakespeare...'cause you can't celebrate love without one of the greatest makers of love stories/tragedies ever. I know, I'm a nerd. So is my roommate, apparently.

Caught off guard, much? haha
Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day (and happy birthday Angela!)!! After my long day yesterday (see previous post), today the clouds cleared away revealing a literally quite sunny day.

I really wasn't kidding about the sun. I could barely read off my computer screen because of it let alone look anywhere on my desk as it would reflect back into my eye. Needless to say, I didn't do much this afternoon.
I still have homework and I still feel like I'm behind but today was just...nice. And besides, I got a little time in the day to just sit and relax.

Besides, with a Valentine like that, I don't know what else could go wrong! Props to the ladies who went out in the what seemed like a blizzard-in-the-moment snow fall and made this awesome guy!

How did you ladies spend Valentine's Day? Go out to dinner? or had to work like me? Haha at least the Dining Hall had some awesome dessert tonight!

Just a few of my favorite things

Hey ladies! Today marks the beginning of the Lenten season  for Catholics. It's a time of reflection and really, being thankful as well. I guess it's fitting that I am sharing my thoughts with you guys now.

This year, I'm giving  up time in my week FOR a chance to be a bit more reflective by going to mass at least twice a week!

This has been a rather challenging week and it's not over yet. This week alone I have spent more nights in the library than I have ever spent there since I got here. It feels like tests and papers and reading are all over the place! My friends and I have been joking that it's not even a full month and we're playing "catch up" to most if not all our classes. I'm sure you have these moments, too. Then again it's times like these that really make me appreciate little study breaks, friends to walk to and from the library with, and cherish the good things here at Notre Dame. A lot's happened in a week so I'll try to sum it up with   just "a few of my favorite things"

The long walk back to campus from the library. Okay, it's no that long but at 2AM, it sure feels like it! At least Campus Security offers to pick us up and drop us off at our residence hall.

                       Study time in the library!

                                                                               Or maybe not....

The weather in Baltimore is crazy. Last Saturday (before the superbowl), I had an eye appointment so Candra, Liz, and I decided to get lunch and do some grocery shopping. We ended up getting caught in the snow...at night.

Poor Candra didn't know Liz was taking a picture of her! There we are at the Collegetown shuttle stop in Towson Place.

Tonight I got out of my night class and walked out in THIS. Pretty but it better be worth it in the morning.

Last Thursday was Notre Dame Day, a day when we award student and faculty with departmental awards and honor those in the Fall Dean's list. Angela was given an award.

Here's the proud Interim Director (and my admissions counselor!!) with Stephanie and of course, I have a video!

CONGRATS ANGELA!!!

By the way, have you ever heard our Alma Mater? Well here's the entire community singing it!

Remember my invitation for you ladies to come spend the night? Well, I have a wonderful prospective on Monday, Ashley. As I trapped myself on my chair to homework, I found this on my wall. Thanks girl!!!

Remember, too, that I LOVE music? I went an treated myself to this. YAY! I'm watching it right now, in fact! I love sales on Amazon lol

Last thing I love, Zumba time with my besties! Okay, this picture isn't Zumba--this was before when Chen was warming up by a bit of boxing.

So what are YOUR favorite things? In weeks of challenge, just like Maria, think about the little things that make you smile. Happy snowy night ladies!

Festivus Maximus on campus tonight!

Got my tickets for the party (isn't that creative advertising? They're not real, btw. It was a free for all event) and sporting my Ravens shirt. Woot!!
Hello to the greatest city in the NFL tonight! This weekend has been action packed (which I will get to in a later post) and it culminated in the RAVENS WINNING THE SUPERHARBOWL 34-31! Thank you to Campus Activities Board for hosting such an awesome party. I'm sharing the pictures with CAB but here is a little sneak peek! For the rest, visit CAB's Facebook page!

Sorry Mary, the 49ers were just not destined to win this one. She's surrounded by sea of purple in MBK Game Room aka Gator Lair.

Well look who made it to the party, lol! Here are some of our ELI and pharmacy (in the back!) students enjoying the game with the Women's College students.

Look at all that food!! By the time the party was over, there was a huge stack of pizza boxes outside. It felt like we were in an actual sports bar with everything around us and I guess it was, minus the traffic and our having to paying for it.

There was even a bar for 21 and up, ID checks and all! Oh, and it was Natty Boh. Baltimore pride all night!

That was such a tense second half, with the power outage and the 49ers catching up! You could feel the pressure in the room build until we got some points on the board again!

Look at those expressions! Candra on the right is a Giants fan but even she could't keep herself from gluing her eyes on the screen. Then again, she kinda jinxed the second half.

Thanks again, CAB! L:R Christine, Morgan, Janie, Amal, Shannon, Jessi with their advisor and Director of Student Activities, Natalie.
See the bird? That was drawn by our very own Student Ambassadors, Christine and Morgan (the two on the left) who are digital arts and photography majors, respectively. They're so talented!

It's nighttime at the moment so I didn't bother taking a picture, but after the Ravens won, Liz and I salvaged some purple ribbon from the party and arched it on the balcony. So, if you happen to drive past tomorrow and see it, that's where I am! I really hope classes get cancelled on Tuesday so I can go the parade...ahh, wishful thinking. :)
